Good Architecture?
Stella Rollig in conversation with the architectural journalists Romana Ring and Wojciech Czaja.

Today it seems that everyone is interested in architecture. Architects become idolized stars, the presentation and discussion of new buildings and building plans is omnipresent in the media. So why is there still so much bad architecture? Why do innovative, aesthetically and functionally outstanding projects so often turn into mediocre buildings? And what are the criteria of quality?
In conjunction with the exhibition "Museums of the 21st Century. Ideas - Projects - Buildings"" two high-profile architectural journalists talk about their views of Austrian building culture in relation to the international horizon, about their personal expectations from the built environment, and about how architecture can be communicated.

She has been a freelance architect since 1993 and writes architectural reviews for the Upper Austrian newspaper Oberösterreichische Nachrichten and articles about architecture in various media (including architektur. aktuell). Her book "Architektur in Oberösterreich seit 1980" was published in 2004 by Verlag Anton Pustet (Salzburg). Since 2004 she has been chair of the architekturforum oberösterreich (afo).

Wojciech Czaja
