Msgr. Otto Mauer Prize 2007
Ursula Mayer is the winner this year of the Msgr. Otto Mauer Prize.
The Lentos Art Museum is proud to be currently presenting the first museum solo exhibition of Ursula Mayer, this year’s winner of the Msgr. Otto Mauer Prize.
As it has been announced, the artist Ursula Mayer is the winner of the Msgr. Otto Mauer Prize 2007 for Fine Art in the fields of painting, graphic art, sculpture, objects, installations and new media. This was decided by the jury consisting this year of Dorit Margreiter, Gabriele Schor, Margherita Spiluttini, Margit Zuckriegl and Gustav Schoerghofer SJ.
The Msgr. Otto Mauer Prize has been awarded annually since 1981 and is currently endowed with a money prize of 11.000,- Euro.
Ursula Mayer entered primarily her film works, including the Trilogy (Portland Place 33, Keeling House and Villa Mairea from 2005/06) and The Crystal Gaze, which are currently being presented at the Lentos Art Museum. The exhibition URSULA MAYER Zeitkristalle / The Crystals of Time opened on 4 October 2007 and will still be displayed until 17 February 2008.
