The Poetry of Transience - Three Days of Improvisation Music in Lentos

With Wolfgang Mitterer, Achim Tang, Andy Manndorff und Andreas Schreiber

Special: Saturday, 8 December 2007, 9.30 pm: Waldeck's Ballroom Stories - Clubbing

Lentos Art Museum Linz invites visitors to a new art event from the 6th to the 8th of December 2007: under the motto Sounds_Seeing_Images, a three-day music festival will take place here for the first time.

This event centers around the immediate, spontaneous exchange between fine art and music. On three subsequent evenings, renowned musicians from Austria and Germany experiment as border-crossers between the art genres by taking up a musical confrontation with fine art works from the Lentos Collection.

The performances revolve around the works Die Menschen verhalten sich und haben es miteinander zu tun by Anselm Glück, Sleep 9 by Gottfried Helnwein and Spuren by Hans Staudacher - paintings they have chosen themselves from the museum collection.
The joint undertaking of the museum and the invited artists is to "... make the world of images resonate." Three days of spontaneously performed music and that all in close proximity to the works of fine art.

The highpoint of the three-day music festival will be on 8 December at 9:30 pm with the party band: Waldeck, the founder of Saint Privat, presents his brand new album "Ballroom Stories" around the singer Zeebee.

The evenings will be hosted by the musician, ö1 moderator and curator Helmut Jasbar.
An introduction to the selected works will be given by Stella Rollig, Director of Lentos, and Brigitte Reutner, head of the Collection and curator.

"Music is a transient medium. It is another expression for freedom. We categorize it, chase its fleeting beauty to hold on to it, but then we feel like butterfly collectors: we miss what is alive." Helmut Jasbar, Curator Music Festival Lentos 2007
