In Conversation: Klaus Pinter

In conjunction with the exhibition HAUS-RUCKER-CO LIVE again, Lentos Director Stella Rollig will talk with Klaus Pinter - founding member of the artist/architect group HAUS-RUCKER-CO.

In 1967 the artist Klaus Pinter, together with the architects Günter Zamp Kelp and Laurids Ortner, founded the group HAUS-RUCKER-CO. Their collaboration led to the creation of designs, objects, installations, situations and interventions that suspended the boundaries between art and architecture and expanded both fields in a way that was radical, visionary and playful. Until 16 March 2008 Lentos shows a partial re-staging of the exhibition LIVE from 1970 with the usable pneumatic Giant Billiard and the tilted passage Oxer, supplemented with works and documents from the HAUS-RUCKER years from 1967 - 1970.

Since 1977 Pinter has worked independently from HAUS-RUCKER as a visual artist. He has consistently continued to further develop theoretical reflections, methods and ways of dealing with space, form, materials - also with the temporality of a work. Particularly the pneumatic sculpture has interested him for a long time; Pinter uses this again and again to analyze, dissect and mirror the most diverse spaces, temporarily expanding them with an incisive, poetic object and mental dimension.
