Valentine's Day 2008 - Coup de Foudre at Lentos

Lentos Art Museum wants to devote the day when everything revolves around lovers to those just falling in love. Coup de foudre - the French term for love at first sight, and that in the museum. The first encounter, cautiously approaching what is as yet unfamiliar, trying to interpret the signs, a feeling of wonder - all of this happens not only to people just falling in love.

Art can also open itself up to us in a similarly surprising new way, and in the first encounter with visual art, especially with contemporary art, we have the same sensation as with the "most beautiful feeling in the world". In life we hardly fall in love with just anyone. In the same way, a preference or even a passion for an artist, a current in art, or even a museum can never be arbitrary.

Together with our visitors, in Lentos we want to explore how very different the approaches to art can and should be - in an entertaining, interactive way. Why do we all see such different things in art? How much is subjective interpretation and how much corresponds to the artist's original intention? What is the point of image analysis? And what is art education for?

For a whole afternoon at the Lentos Art Museum there will be guided tours through the current exhibitions dedicated to the theme of Coup de Foudre in art. An invitation is extended to people of all ages, with or without a partner, from all constellations of life. Let yourself in for a blind date - a blind date with modern art and completely new people.

After a guided tour in the museum, visitors are invited to enjoy the Lentos surprise drink, the sparkling sweet Coup de Foudre, in the Lentos Cafe-Bar-Restaurant. There is also a special treat for young visitors: a Frog Prince.

Exclusive Dinner in the Lentos Restaurant
The Lentos Cafe-Bar-Restaurant will organize an exclusive Coup de Foudre dinner for two, which also includes an admission ticket for the Art Museum.
