Fashion + Dance

In cooperation with the Art University Linz and the Anton Bruckner Private University. 

The re-staging of the HAUS-RUCKER-CO exhibition LIVE from 1970, which is currently presented at the Lentos Art Museum, offered students from the Art University Linz / Textile/Art&Design an opportunity to explore the architects' radical positions and future-oriented visions and to react to them from a sense of life today.
The visionary ideas of the artist-architect group HAUS-RUCKER-CO (Laurids, Zamp, Pinter) from the 1960s and 1970s already led to specific fashion designs at that time. These also served the students as inspiration.

In the course of a semester project (project supervisors: Ingrid Thallinger and Karin Weiss), twelve students took up the challenge and created designs for the Giant Billiard, a 225 m² air-filled white mattress with three inflated balls made of PVC, which serves as a catwalk.

The conventional function of clothing was investigated in all its details - trousers, blouse, skirt rolled up, turned inside out and taken apart to develop a new functionality and a new aesthetic. The fashion show presents articles of clothing that are suitable for moving on the soft foundation and make feelings like insecurity, playfulness, craziness, competitiveness and strength tangible.

The worldwide trend to natural material and the growing environmental awareness in fashion were taken into account in creating the models, but without dispensing with a propensity to glitter and luxury, the year's theme for Textile/Art&Design. The result is an exciting collection with unusual outfits by designers from the master studies class Textile/Art&Design in between ecology and luxury.
The fashion creations are modeled by dancers from the x.IDA - postgraduate dance company / Anton Bruckner Private University under the direction of Esther Linley.

The fabrics are sponsored by the company Grüne Erde.
