Art Goes to the Country
A visit with Inge Dick, in the Galerie 422, Gmunden, and with Franz Josef Altenburg
Art goes to the country offers an opportunity to view art in the place where it is made and to talk with the artists directly. This time we visit Inge Dick, Mondsee, the Galerie 422 in Gmunden, and Franz Josef Altenburg in Breitenschützing.
Inge Dick and Franz Josef Altenburg are among the leading Austrian artists. Inge Dick's work is currently on display in an extensive solo exhibition at the Gallery of the Province of Upper Austria. Since the early 1980s photography as been an important form of expression within her artistic oeuvre. Dick’s conceptual approach focuses on the concepts of time and light, which she transfers to aesthetically convincing photographic realizations.
As a master of his craft, Franz Josef Altenburg prefers what is robust and study over what is delicate or even artificial. With his ceramic objects the artist breaks through the boundaries between traditional handicraft forms of expression and material predetermination.
Works by Franz Ringel and Martha Jungwirth will be presented in the 422 in Gmunden.
