Cultural Enjoyment as the Food of Life
In 2009 the company Hofer KG becomes a generous sponsor of Linz museums with the motto Cultural Enjoyment as the Food of Life. Man does not live by bread alone.
Mit Hofer in die Museen!
Going to the Museums with Hofer!
The goal of the cooperation between Hofer KG and the Museums of the City of Linz, Lentos Art Museum Linz and Nordico - Museum of the City of Linz, along with the Linz State Gallery and the Castle Museum is to open up the museums for all groups of visitors! This includes those, for whom the price of admission may present an obstacle. Another concern is to reduce existing inhibitions and to stimulate first visits.
An Overview of the Offers:
Free admission for school classes / vouchers for guided tours
For school classes the costs - despite reduced prices - represent an obstacle to regular visits to the museum. In addition to admission there are often extra costs for guided tours and for travel. Through sponsoring, Hofer KG makes it possible for school classes visiting Lentos or Nordico in conjunction with lessons to receive free admission throughout the entire year. In addition, a total of 600 vouchers for free guided tours will be distributed.
Hofer Saturday
Thanks to Hofer KG, the last Saturday of each month is declared "free Saturday". All visitors receive free admission throughout the entire day. This is particularly intended to reach new groups of visitors for the museums, reduce inhibitions and stimulate first visits. A special art education program will additionally be offered on these days, which is particularly oriented to "first-time museum-goers". Following the so-called cicerone principle, art guides will be available throughout the day in the exhibition rooms to provide visitors with individual information. Additionally, there will be ten-minute "lightning infos" on the current exhibitions every hour.
Quarterly Projects
Every quarter an innovative project will be designed that addresses a very specific target group. The selection centers primarily around social and socio-political aspects, for example projects with migrants or people with handicaps. An art education program is planned for the first quarter of 2009 in conjunction with the exhibition KUTLUG ATAMAN. Mesopotamian Tales, which is especially tailored to Turkish migrant groups.
