Long Night of the Museums
The "Long Night" in the Lentos Art Museum Linz
3 October 2009, 6 pm to 1 am
2009 is an exceptional year - Linz is the Capital of Culture. The Long Night of the Museums goes far beyond conventional artistic boundaries with an intoxicating, sounding experience of art engaging all the senses: SEE THIS SOUND!
In the exhibition See This Sound. Promises in Sound and Vision, images, sounds and audiovisual media, visual art and media art are intertwined. Cultural history, politics, pop and media technology conjoin into an opulent and fascinating survey show.
On this evening you can listen to written words as well: in the Collection exhibition best of lentos Volker Raus will read for seven hours (6 pm to 1 am) from his crime novel Leihgabe ("Loaned Work") about the theft of a painting from Lentos!
