STELZER / BRUCKMAYR LIVE
29 October 2009, 7 pm in Lentos
Free admission
The series of innovative art education projects sponsored by Hofer KG at the Lentos Art Museum goes into the third round. Following two discussion evenings in conjunction with the Kutlug Ataman exhibition in spring on the topics "Women / Religion" and "Politics / Society" and an event series for the hearing impaired, Lentos now extends an invitation to live performances by two virtuosos from the fields of dance and music, Doris Stelzer and Didi Bruckmayr.
In keeping with the current exhibition, the choreographer Doris Stelzer developed a dance performance with the title see this sound, hear this movement?
Here Stelzer, who is fascinated by the body as an internal archive and an external medium of representation, has the dancer Lieve De Pourcq perform with segments from her unusual body stagings to electronic live music by Werner Möbius. Image, movement and sound subtly flow together and apart in Stelzer's work.
Didi Bruckmayr, one of the most versatile and extravagant figures in the Austrian music circus performs a Lecture on See This Sound. Visitors experience a multimedia educational event about the physicality of sound, vectors and ecstasy with real-time audio and 3D video processing, strange voices and folkloric dances. Dr. Didi Bruckmayr's "co-lecturers" are Sara Glaxia/Mexico and Siegmar Aigner/Austria.
Concept and organization: Korinna Kohout, Klaus Scheuringer
