New Acquisitions 2007

New works have been acquired in 2007 in conjunction with focal points of the Collection and exhibitions. Following a large exhibition devoted to Johanna and Helmut Kandl, a large format painting (o.T./ you never know..., 2004) and a video work (Aus Negris Fenster) by Johanna Kandl have remained with the museum. Other purchases include works by Sabine Bitter/Helmut Weber, Julie Monaco, Andrew Phelps, Klaus Pinter and Kamen Stoyanov.

The high quality collection of hand drawings has been further enriched with works by Austrian artists such as Elisabeth Plank and Lisa Pock.
These works were acquired through the Gallery Fund 2007 of the Federal Ministry for Education, Art and Culture.
A draft by Helene Funke (1869 - 1957) for the painting In der Loge that is part of the Lentos Collection is an important supplement to this work, which received attention in a museum survey exhibition for the first time in Lentos.

Lentos is grateful to the Association of Friends and Supporters of Lentos for the acquisition of important works by Dietmar Brehm (Frisuren, 2004, 18-part self-portrait series) and by Lois Renner (Galaxy, 2006) - each of these artists arranged a room in the course of the new hanging of the collection Aufmischen - Mix it up. Dorothee Golz’ large format work Unbeteiligter (2007) was donated by the bank Volksbank Linz - Mühlviertel together with the insurance company Victoria VersicherungsAG.
