Foundation Maria and Gerald Fischer-Colbrie

October 15 to November 23, 2003

From 1976 to the present, the collector couple Mag. Maria and Mag. Gerald Fischer-Colbrie have donated eighty art works to the New Gallery of the City of Linz, now the Lentos Modern Art Museum. For the first time, a cross-section of about fifty works in presented in an exhibition, which highlights the specific facets of this private foundation along with the general tone of patronage activities on behalf of the public interested in art.

The foundation focuses on works by Pierre Alechinsky, Siegfried Anzinger, Alexander Calder, Michael Croissant, VALIE EXPORT, Adolf Frohner, Martha Jungwirth, Herwig Kempinger, Kiki Kogelnik, Robert Mangold, Otto Mühl, Hermann Nitsch, Claes Oldenburg, Franz Ringel, Niki de Saint Phalle, Hubert Schmalix, Hans Staudacher and Tom Wesselmann.

A catalogue is published for the exhibition with sixty pictures, artist biographies and essays by Gerald Fischer-Colbrie and Peter Baum. (EUR 14,-)
