Alfred Kubin - Visions and Sketches

Thanks to Wolfgang Gurlitt, the Lentos Modern Art Museum holds nearly 600 works by Alfred Kubin. These cover all the techniques used by the artist and include books illustrated by Kubin, in addition to one-of-a-kind graphic works, mixed techniques and portfolio works.

From all of these Lentos shows a characteristic selection of forty works, ranging from the Weaver Portfolio published in 1903, through early visionary pages, to pencil drawings and sketches from the twenties to the fifties, which have an incredibly modern effect.

The exhibition can be viewed from September 11 to October 12, 2003 in the Graphics Room of Lentos.
