Karl Schmidt-Rottluff: Expressionism

In addition to the presentation of the Schmidt-Rottluff Foundation, Mr. Baum shows works from the holdings of the Lentos Collection of painting and graphic art.

In addition to the presentation of the Schmidt-Rottluff Foundation, Peter Baum shows works from the holdings of the Lentos Collection of painting and graphic art, ranging from classical expressionism (Pechstein, Kolig, Nolde, Hofer, Heckel) all the way to the expressionists of today.

In the annex to the large exhibition hall with with important works by Markus Prachensky, Georges Mathieu and Alan Davie (the latter two are new acquisitions), a newly installed, 3 x 7 meter large light object by Klemens Figlhuber is also presented. This was acquired by Lentos in collaboration with VOEST ALPINE, Fabersoft and BBAG.

This work is flanked by a classical, kinetic glass object by Marc Adrian (1955), a five-part ceramic wall piece by the Vienna-based Turkish artist Canan Dagdelen and a small photographic work by Sissi Farassat. The new display comprises nearly one hundred works, some of which have not yet been shown, from the holdings of the Linz museum.
