Biography

Christian Ludwig Attersee
Born 1940 in Pressburg, Slovakia. In Austria since 1944.


1951 - 1957 Grammar school in Linz, Upper Austria,
followed by study at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna, class of Eduard Baeumer.
From the early years prominent as an artistic multi-talent, but also as a sportsman in sailing (3 times Austrian national champion).
 
since 1963 Exhibitions in all parts of the world.
1965 - 1966 Lived in Berlin.
Large individual exhibitions in leading European museums, among them Den Haag, Vienna, Eindhoven, Linz, Mallorca, Amsterdam.
 
1984 Represented Austria at the Biennale in Venice.
since May 1992 Professor at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna

Has been constantly represented by the Heike Curtze Gallerey, Vienna.

Extensive catalogue bibliography and books dealing with his work, among them the catalogue of the printed graphic work (197 numbered works from 1966 to 1997) published by the Salzburg Residenz Publishing House, for the retrospective at the Vienna Albertina in 1997.

Numerous summer residences on Lake Attersee, Upper Austria. Works, groups of works and films with Attersee themes.
