Biography
For the first time in Austria, Camesi, born 1940 in Cevio in Ticino, shows ensembles of a major cyclical work created in Vienna in 2000. Using the media of painting, drawing, photography and object art, his investigations revolve around existential questions, usually in the form of larger installations.

The philosophical dimension of his work unfolds in analogy to an understanding of the cosmos and its elementary phenomena. Specific materials underscore a stringent concept in the charged relationship between the human being and nature.

The artist's international reputation is based on important museum exhibition (including Geneva, Bern, Amsterdam, Zurich, Hamburg and Tokyo), Biennale participation (including São Paolo 1973) and numerous gallery presentations.
