List of exhibited works
From Line to Drawing, motto and impetus, which fix the process, the development of possibilities and changes of the medium. It is an invitation to step behind the scenes of a large graphic collection, to show what drawing and print can achieve in their directness and spontaneity of expression, across generations, styles and tendencies, in surprising contrasts and confrontations with masterpieces of the 20th century.

The exhibition can be divided into the following chapters:

Modernism
with works by Pierre Bonnard, Georges Braque, Gustav Klimt, Alfred Kubin, Henri Matisse, Joan Miró, Georges Rouault and Henri Toulouse-Lautrec

Informel and abstract expressionism
Pierre Alechinsky, Karel Appel, Willem de Kooning, Georges Matthieu, Henri Michaux, Hans Staudacher and Antoni Tàpies

Drawing in Austria after 1945
Kurt Absolon, Arnulf Rainer, Alfred Hrdlicka, Walter Pichler, Josef Mikl and Günter Brus

Cross over of drawing
Wolfgang Ernst, Jean Charles Blais, Martine Rassineux

Beside specific themes and styles, one can distinguish important issues following the dates of the works and their way of expression, for instance the smallest exhibit is an etching by Nicola de Maria (10 x 15 cm), while the biggest drawing is by Carinthian artist Alois Köchl (263 x 202 cm). About 40 new acquisitions of the last few years are also on show, which give an insight into the collection´s policy.
