Experts tour: „Friedl Dicker-Brandeis“
Elena Makarova is an author, historian, curator of numerous international exhibitions and art therapist She has published more than 40 books, many of which deal with the history of the Holocaust, educational theory and art therapy. Her works have been translated into twelve languages to date Makarova was awarded the Korczak Society Medal in Jerusalem (2002) and is the recipient of the Israeli Prize for Literature (1996) and the Russian Prize for Literature (2016) She is the author of the novel Friedl (2011), published in Russian and translated into Czech (2017), Hebrew (2021) and German (2022) Makarova developed a method of art therapy based on Friedl Dicker-Brandeis’ teaching in Theresienstadt.
She advanced the methodology applied in the art therapy training in Milan (VITT3), and which bears the names of Friedl Dicker-Brandeis and Edith Kramer
