Colorful, imaginative, and full of surprising perspectives: The exhibition Katrin Plavčak. Painting Reality in Surreal Times (through January 10, 2027) transports students into a visual world that blends comics, pop culture, and the big questions of our time. Topics such as fake news, war, social media, and social change invite students to reflect, discuss, and discover new perspectives. Through age-appropriate programs, students engage with the artworks in a playful or critical manner and develop their own ideas, imaginary worlds, and visual stories.

From Pop Culture to Sabotage
Grades 8 and up
What happens when the familiar suddenly seems strange, and humor gives us a critical grin? Drawing on Katrin Plavčak’s visual worlds, we explore the surreal nature of political circumstances. Using the tools of art, we open up spaces to experiment with self-determined action and develop new perspectives.

Stories of Color
Elementary school, after-school care, ASO, middle school, and lower secondary school
We immerse ourselves in Katrin Plavčak’s colorful visual worlds and let her works inspire us to create new stories. Afterward, the children develop their own fantasy worlds, characters, and narratives, expressing their dreams and ideas through painting.
