Lentos Friends
Friends support and help one another where they can. For example in researching, collecting, preserving and communicating. The Association of Friends of the Lentos aims to support and promote the museum. Through the purchase of art works the association supports the museum direction in further expanding the Collection. Since the Association was founded in 1985, members have purchased works by Tony Cragg, Gerwald Rockenschaub or EVA & ADELE and others. With their friendship they contribute to strengthening Lentos as one of the leading addresses for modern and contemporary art, thus promoting the important social, artistic and academic tasks of the museum. The museum also gives something back to you as a good friend: you become part of a pulsating art scene and provide – tax deductible – support for one of the most important museums of modern and contemporary art in Austria.

“after work” studio visit at THERESE EISENMANN
Lamm 16, 4212 Neumarkt im Mühlkreis
Therese Eisenmann, born in 1953 in Gosau at the foot of the Dachstein, studied painting and free graphics at the University of Art and Design (now the University of Art and Design) in Linz. During her studies, which she completed in 1977, she discovered etching as a means of artistic expression. She has remained faithful to this printing technique, which is extremely complex and demanding due to the resistance of the metal, and is now considered the grande dame of iron etching.
In her work, Therese Eisenmann is particularly concerned with the human condition. The elements of light and water and their proximity to life also play a very important role in her imagery. Her extremely strong relationship to nature and animal life and her deeply personal examination of herself as a woman can also be found in her pictures. Her serial printmaking work shows her often very intensive preoccupation with one subject area. With her reworkings, she expands her paper formats by mounting iron engravings on the canvas, thus creating space for graphic painting.
“I don’t want to invent anything. Just to show, to make visible. My work itself is a journey through time.” Therese Eisenmann
Art historian Dr. Maria Reitter, who curated the Eisenmann exhibition at the Francisco Carolinum, is now organizing this studio visit exclusively for members of the association.
To take part in the event, please register with Ms. Christine Weixelbaumer by emailing office@projektagentur.at by Friday, 25 April 2025.
Car pools can be formed.

Exclusive Preview at Lentos for the Friends Association
COOL – The Erwin Hauser Collection
In 2024, the Vice President of the *Lentos Friends* Association donated his nearly 3,000-piece art collection to the city of Linz and Lentos. Curator Elisabeth Nowak-Thaller will present a first *best-of* selection, providing insights into the collection’s origins and highlighting key aspects of this high-caliber body of work, which the Linz entrepreneur has built over the past 25 years with a keen curatorial eye.
This donation marks the most significant expansion of the museum’s collection since its foundation, following the acquisition of the Wolfgang Gurlitt Collection in 1953.
