The Prix Ars Electronica is the world's longest-established media art competition - and each year offers forward-looking insights into creative work at the interface of art, technology and society. Winners receive a Golden Nica, up to 10,000 euros in prize money and an appearance at the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz. In 2024, the Prix Ars Electronica exhibition will be shown at the Lentos Kunstmuseum for the first time.

Outstanding submissions in the categories New Animation Art and Interactive Art + as well as the winning project of the first AI in ART Award will be presented. A total of 13 works by up-and-coming media artists from Europe, North America, South America and Asia will be exhibited at Lentos during the Ars Electronica Festival from September 4 to 8. The winners of the u19-create your world category can be found in POSTCITY.

Three highlights at a glance:
Beatie Wolfe's visualization Smoke and Mirrors contrasts the rise in methane concentration in the atmosphere with advertising slogans from the oil industry, Diane Cescutti's installation Nosukaay combines traditional West African weaving art, mathematics and computers and Washed Out "The Hardest Part" by filmmaker Paul Trillo impressively demonstrates how creatively artists can work with OpenAI's Sora text-to-video model.
